Assisi

On a trip to the hill towns of Umbria, Italy, our friend brought us to this place. It is a vision of tumbled white buildings on the hill, brighter than the other hill towns, and a goal of pilgrims only second to the Vatican. This is the home of St. Francis. It is rocky and humble and glorious. Even though the skies were gray, it was shining in the light.
